This guide works through setup of the MG-FG-1000A pallet wrapping machine if we have sent you one in a crate. to setup yourself if you are in a remote location.Â

Before You Begin
After unpacking the machine, ensure you have enough clear space around the wrapper to safely raise the mast into position.
You will require:
- 1–3 people (2 people are recommended for lifting the mast)
- Basic hand tools, including alan keys and sockets.
- Pliers for securing the retaining pin
Having a second or third person makes lifting and aligning the mast significantly easier and reduces the risk of damage during installation.
Step 1 – Position the Mast
The first stage is attaching the mast to the machine base.
Carefully lift the mast into position and align it with the mounting holes on the turntable base. Take your time during this step, as proper alignment will make the remaining assembly much easier.

Step 2 – Install the Support Rod
Before the mast is fully secured, insert the support rod for the hinge through:
- the first eyelet
- the mast mounting section
- the final eyelet
This temporarily supports and aligns the mast while it is being bolted into place.
Once the rod is installed, fit the locking pin through the end of the rod and bend it slightly using pliers so it cannot work loose during operation.
Step 3 – Bolt the Mast to the Base
With the mast correctly positioned, install all six mounting bolts.
The MG-FG-1000A uses:
- 6 mounting bolts total
- 3 bolts on each side of the mast
Tighten each bolt evenly before giving them a final torque. This ensures the mast remains square and properly aligned.
Step 4 – Install the Film Carriage
Once the mast is securely mounted, the film carriage can be fitted.
Lift the carriage onto the black backing plate before hooking it into position on the mast.
Once seated correctly, secure it using the four supplied mounting bolts, installing two bolts on each side.
At this point the carriage should move freely along the mast without excessive play.
Step 5 – Release the limit Switches
During transport, the limit switches are cable tied into place to prevent damage.
After the carriage has been installed:
- Cut the lower cable tie.
- Cut the upper cable tie.
- Allow both reed switches to sit vertically outward from the mast.
Do not operate the machine with the switches still tied in their transport position. They must be free to operate correctly.

The carriage must not be allowed to go beyond this point.Â

Step 6 – Check limit Switch Alignment
This is one of the most important parts of the installation.
Before powering up the wrapper, confirm that the bottom reed switch is correctly aligned with the corresponding actuator on the carriage.
If this switch is incorrectly positioned, the carriage may fail to stop correctly or could generate positioning faults during operation.
The assembly guide clearly shows both the incorrect and correct alignment positions, making it easy to verify before continuing.
Step 7 – Connect the Electrical Plugs
Once all mechanical assembly has been completed, connect the electrical wiring.
There are three connectors to install:
- One connector to the carriage
- Two connectors near the drive motor
Each connector is keyed so it only fits one way.
Never force a connector into position. If it doesn't fit easily, check its orientation and alignment before reconnecting.

Step 8 – Place on motor guards
The motor guard bolts onto the frame with 2 bolts at the base and 2 behind the mast.Â

Step 9 – Perform a Final Inspection
Before switching the machine on, carry out a complete inspection.
Check that:
- All six mast bolts are tight.
- The carriage mounting bolts are secure.
- The mast is straight and stable.
- The limit switches are correctly positioned.
- All electrical plugs are fully connected.
Only once these checks have been completed should the machine be plugged into power. Load a roll of stretch film, thread the carriage correctly and perform a test wrap cycle.
First Test Run
During the first cycle, observe the machine carefully.
Watch that:
- The carriage travels smoothly from bottom to top.
- The limit switches stop the carriage correctly.
- The turntable rotates freely.
- The film feeds correctly without excessive tension.
- No wiring catches on moving components.
If everything operates smoothly, the MG-FG-1000A is ready for normal use.
Final Thoughts
The MG-FG-1000A has been designed to be assembled quickly with only a handful of components. Most of the installation involves securing the mast, fitting the carriage, connecting three electrical plugs and confirming the reed switches have been released from their transport position.
Taking a few extra minutes to correctly align the reed switches and tighten all mounting hardware will help prevent unnecessary service calls and ensure the wrapper performs reliably from day one.
