GREAT WRAP is a Melbourne Manufacturer of composable Pallet wrapping film. 


Great Wrap are a B Corp Certified material science company on a mission to end the human reliance on traditional plastics. They are the only Australian made compostable stretch wrap manufacturer. Co-founders Julia and Jordy Kay started Great Wrap in 2019. At the time, Jordy was making natural
wine, and Julia was an architect. They were both using a lot of pallet wrap in their respective industries and wondered how there wasn't already a solution
to traditional stretch wrap.

Knowing that traditional pallet wrap can take hundreds of years to break down in landfill was enough to get them started with Great Wrap. The Great Wrap team are driven by impact, fueled by demand, and have a 10-year vision for a world where plastic doesn't exist.

MPS Packaging is a technical stretch film and Machine supplier, we are the only GREAT WRAP distributor import and distribute pallet wrapping machinery.

We have tested GREAT WRAP ourselves with our full range of with all our hand, machine and robotic equipment.

Great Wrap is an Australian company creating compostable cling and pallet wrap made from plant-based materials and compostable Bio polyomers. Great Wrap’s products are certified home-compostable, breaking down in under 180 days without leaving behind microplastics or harmful residues. Their innovation means customers can enjoy the same strength, clarity, and stretch of conventional wrap while dramatically reducing environmental impact.

Their home product line includes refillable “Nudie Rolls” used with the “Great Mate” dispenser, made from recycled PET bottles, while the industrial range offers a direct, eco-friendly substitute for standard pallet film. With a mission to replace petroleum-based plastics entirely, Great Wrap is scaling production and even building a biorefinery to turn more food waste into compostable materials—paving the way for a future where wrapping is both practical and planet-friendly.

Why is the Pallet wrap Yellow?

At MPS Packaging, we’ve introduced a yellow-tinted compostable hand and machine pallet wrap to help receivers easily distinguish our sustainable wrap from conventional pallet wrap throughout the supply chain.

The yellow tint comes from a natural plant-based fibre additive, ensuring the wrap remains 100% compostable. When pallets are wrapped, the tint is subtle and closely resembles traditional wrap, but becomes more noticeable when the film is removed or viewed on the roll. This simple colour cue makes it easier to identify and separate compostable wrap for proper disposal, while maintaining all the strength and performance you expect.

How much GREAT WRAP do i need to order?

Our Compostable Machine Pallet Wrap is available by the roll, while our Compostable Hand Pallet Wrap comes in convenient packs of four. There’s no minimum order, making it easy for businesses of any size to start using compostable wrap.

Where is Great wrap made?


Great wrap is proudly designed and manufactured right here in Melbourne. By producing locally, GREAT WRAP maintain complete control over every stage of the design process, ensuring the highest quality and performance in every product.

What is Great wrap made with?

MPS Packaging’s compostable pallet wrap is made from compostable biopolymers, combining plant-based oils, agroforestry waste, and PBAT. All material inputs are certified home compostable and approved for food contact, making them safe for both people and the planet.

Looking ahead, we plan to incorporate PHA into our wrap, produced in our own biorefinery. PHA is not only home compostable but also marine degradable—meaning it will break down completely in the ocean as well as in compost environments, leaving nothing harmful behind.

Does rain or water effect great wrap?


Rain and moisture won’t impact the performance of our compostable pallet wrap. It’s designed to stay strong during use and will only begin to break down when microbes in soil or compost start the natural decomposition process.
