When it comes to protecting your palletized goods, using a pallet cover is an essential step to ensure your products remain safe from dust, moisture, and other external elements. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the correct way to apply a pallet cover for maximum protection.
Method 1
Step 1: Placing the Pallet Cover before wrapping.
Before wrapping your pallet, start by placing a pallet cap or cover over the top of the goods. This initial step prevents contaminants from settling on the products during transport or storage. If necessary, secure the cover with tape or another adhesive to prevent it from shifting before wrapping.
You can see since we didn't secure it with tape or anything before hand it almost came off, especially as the air from the wrapping blows the light pallet upwards.
Method 2
Wrapping the Pallet with a Machine in pallet capping mode
In our demonstration, we show the Mytho S pallet wrapper in action using its pallet capping mode. This is the proper way to attach a cap to a pallet while ensuring complete coverage and stability. The pallet is wrapped all the way up, enclosing the bottom layers completely.
Once the first wrap is applied, the pallet cap is carefully placed on top. This method prevents any water from seeping between the cap and the goods inside, as the external wrap directs moisture outward. The final layer of wrapping is then applied over the cap, sealing the pallet and creating a more waterproof barrier.
While this maybe slower as the machine pauses, it eliminates the need to secure the cap before hand with tape or another method and this method ensure the pallet it more waterproof as if water was to come on top of the pallet it can seep in-between the goods.
