The MUL20 is a sealless steel strapping combo tensioner and sealer, the single unit allows a user to tension strap and then crimp it other through its die mechanism with a simple push of a second lever. It saves users labour time and the cost of seals. The MUL-20 Suits strapping 12mm – 19mm x 0.7mm, regular and high tensile steel strapping and is Supplied with a 1 year manufactures warranty.

The MUL20 is a serious heavy duty tool, it should not be confused with cheap imports or throwaway tools, MUL20s last for DECADES.

Reversible guides

The MUL20 features reversible guides. The MUL20 is sold with 19mm guides equipped, these guides can be flipped easily to make the tool run 16mm steel strap. On request the tool can be sent to you instead with the 12/16mm guide pack equiped.

The MUL20 is one of few tools on the market with this feature, most tools you will have to buy a full set of Guides, some of which are more than M$400 for a set of front, middle and rear guides on other European made tools.

The MUL20 isn't just one of the fastest tools for tensioning and sealing steel strapping fast, when compared to other strapping options the MUL20 is one of the fastest tools in general, with only battery powered sealless tools and battery powered friction weld tools beating it.

Easy adjustments

One of the best thing about the MUL20 is how easy it is to adjust the tools settings, like feedwheel height and cutting depth. Some others tools have you removing the frame of the tool, removing shim plates, replacing side guards to adjust sealing and cuttings depth. Its almost barbaric.  The MUL20 cutting and sealing depth can be adjusted on the side of the tool by a hex screw, the die return point is adjusted by a hex screw and bolt on the handle and then the feedwheel height is adjusted by a screw and locknut on the side of the tool. all these adjusts save you time and money on labour and replacement parts.

What strapping an i use on this tool?

Do I need other tools or seals to strap with this tool?

No, the MUL20 is an all in one seal-less combination unit It uses a die mechanism to punch the 2 layers of steel strapping together. Besides this tool all you will need is the steel strapping to strap goods. A dispenser is also recommended to hold the strapping.

Is this joint better than a seal?

Simply put no, it’s not. A seal-less joint is only good when tight and under tension, if you’re stacking goods on top of each other you need to make sure that it doesn’t relieve tension of the strap around the joint.

Are parts available for this tool?

Yes, MPS has been a distributor of MUL tools for decades, we stock all MUL20 parts and can maintain and repair them onsite or at our warehouse.

Ive seen tools for cheaper, can you price match?

The MUL20 is a heavy duty European made tool, and MPS is possibly the cheapest provider of the MUL20 in Australia. Any tools cheaper than the MUL20 are likely made in china or Taiwan. or the standard Duty MUL16. The MUL20 supersedes the MUL16 in all respects.

Whats the life expectancy of this strapping tool?

Depends on your usage, environment and the users, but many of our customers see over a decade of use out of a MUL20 with ongoing maintenance to them.

Can i repair this sealless strapping tool myself?

Sure can, we can train your staff how to do their own maintenance on them so you can just buy the parts through us. if you like, MUL20s are one of the easiest tools in the world to use and adjust settings.

Can i adjust the cutting depth on this strapping tensioner?

Yes, and quite easily too, there is just a hex screw at the side, loosen that up and adjust the cutting depth in under a minute. Other tools will have you replacing shims, repacing side guards, pulling part thew whole tools to do do, rather barbaric really. Its not needed on the MUL20.

Should the feedwheel and gripper ever touch?

No the feedwheel and gripper on any tensioner should never touch, the MUL20 has an easy bolt adjustment to change the feedwheel height. having the feedwheel and gripper can cause unwanted ware to the parts. Many tools dont have this adjustment when the casing on these tools get worn enough the whole part needs to be replaced, but on the MUL20 you can just screw in the bolt further.
