Buying tips for sealless steel strapping tools

Buying tips for sealless steel strapping tools

MPS is deeply committed to high quality products and customer value. We hate to see people get ripped off taken advantage off when purchasing strapping tools. So here's some tips we have developed.

Don’t overpay for a clone tool
We often see people see the MUL20 price and go, oh that’s too expensive, there’s this other tool online for this price, it does the same thing. Yeah, all sealless steel strapping tools will seal steel, its what they do, but how long will they do it for?

If you’re going to instead opt for a tool from the Asian region, we cant stress this enough, DON’T PAY THE MUL20 price for a clone tool. Most Asian made tools are clones of an old European made tool which are yellow on black. They made cheaply and are considered a throwaway tool, most of these tools don’t have spare parts available. And wont last decades like a MUL20 will if properly serviced.

Don’t pay over $1000 for tools of Asian origin with extreme price mark-up when they should only be a couple of hundred.

Don’t overpay for a high end tool Sealless tool
We often look at the prices online and see sealless steel strapping tools advertised for AUD$4000.00 or more, yeah these tools arnt sold by strapping companies, they’re sold by retail hardware companies who think you can markup a sealless tool by 300% like a can of abrasives or saw blade. You’re not getting a better tool by paying over 2k for a tool of European origin (Unless it does 19080 strapping) you’re just getting ripped off.

Parts availability.
Now weather you buy a high-end tool of European origin or a low end tool, parts availability is important, at some point in time, a part will wear out and break. If that part is simple to replace and cheap, it could be just $100 to get you up and strapping again or shelling out for a new tool.

Make sure if you’re going to buy somewhere else they stock all parts.

MPS not only stocks all parts for MUL20, we sell them online, were the only company in Australia to sell strapping tools parts online.(All parts for MUL20 are currently available by contacting us but not online yet)

Service capabilities of the people selling the tool.
We recommend checking into the service capabilities of the company you’re looking to buy a strapping tool from, do they have their own technicians and technical staff to get your tool repaired?

MPS have our own technicians and contractors in each state for repairs of MUL20s.

We hope you found this guide informative.
