The ITI-20 Battery Powered Strapping Tool is a reliable and proven cordless strapping tool designed for 13mm and 16mm PET and PP strapping. Manufactured in Italy by ITIPACK, the ITI-20 combines tensioning, friction welding and strap cutting into one portable tool, making it an excellent choice for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centres and general pallet strapping applications.

Designed as a medium-to-low tension battery strapping tool, the ITI-20 delivers an adjustable tension force from 600N up to 2200N (approximately 60–220kg). This makes it particularly well suited to cartons, palletised goods, food and beverage products, glass and ceramics, fruit and vegetables, general manufacturing and other applications where consistent plastic strapping is required.

Rather than using separate tensioners, sealers and metal seals, the ITI-20 completes the strapping process with a single tool. The operator tensions the strap around the load before the tool friction welds the overlapping PET or PP strap together and cuts the excess strap, producing a strong and consistent joint without requiring a separate seal.

A Proven Italian Battery Strapping Tool

The ITI-20 is one of ITIPACK's best-known battery powered plastic strapping tools and has been used worldwide across a wide variety of industries.

Its popularity comes from its relatively simple design. Rather than loading the tool with unnecessary features, the ITI-20 provides the essential functions required for everyday PET and PP strapping in a compact and robust package.

At approximately 4kg including the battery, the ITI-20 is light enough for portable use around a warehouse or production facility while still providing up to 2200N of tension.

Adjustable Tension up to 2200N

Different products require different levels of strap tension. A lightweight carton does not require the same tension as a solid palletised load, which is why adjustable tension is important.

The ITI-20 provides a tension range of approximately 600N to 2200N, allowing the operator to select an appropriate tension for the product being secured.

This makes the ITI-20 particularly useful for lighter and medium-duty applications where excessive tension could crush or damage the product.

For very heavy-duty PET strapping applications requiring substantially higher tension, a larger battery strapping tool may be more appropriate. Such as the ITI-21 or ITI-23.

Friction Weld Technology – No Metal Seals Required

One of the biggest advantages of a battery powered PET strapping tool is that no separate metal seal is required.

After tensioning, the ITI-20 uses high-speed friction between the two overlapping layers of plastic strap. This generates enough heat to soften the surfaces of the PET or PP strap. The layers are pressed together and rapidly cool to create the finished joint.

This process is commonly known as friction welding.

The manufacturer specifies joint strength at approximately 75% of the breaking strength of the strap, although actual joint efficiency varies depending on the type, dimensions and quality of the strapping being used.

Removing metal seals from the process can reduce consumable costs while also making the strapping process considerably faster than using a traditional manual tensioner and sealer.

Suitable for 13mm & 16mm PET and PP Strapping

The tool can also be changed between compatible 13mm and 16mm strap sizes without replacing the strap guides, making it particularly convenient for businesses that use more than one strap width.

Aluminium Base plate

The ITIPack range of battery strapping tools use an aluminum base plates. The base plate is lightweight, making the tool easier to handle, but also increasing its robustness. Most other tools use cast steel as for the base plate which is prone to cracking and more brittle than aluminum.

Twinmotor, Direct drive

The standard range of ITI tools use two independent motors to drive the tensioning and welding of the tool. This design does away with many complexities of the tool and expensive parts such as belt wheels, bevel pinion, planetary gears and increased microswitches from its design.

This reduced complexity reduces the maintence requirments and total cost of ownership of the tool.




LED Screen

The Standard range of ITItools battery strapping tools use a highly reliable LED screen which is simple to use, but also reliable to use in harsher environments.

Tension and welding settings are settable through the LCD screen along with displaying its strapping count for maintenance and error messages.

Manual welding lever

The ItIpack manual welding tool is one feature that makes that tools exceptionally reliable. With its reduced complexity, the tool does not require an extra servo motor to function, reducing the cost to you but also greatly reducing maintenance overtime.

Updated 18V ITI-20

The ITI-20 has been a long-running model and has been supplied in different battery configurations over its production life. Earlier ITI-20 tools were supplied with a 14.8V Lithium-Polymer battery, while the latest ITA/ITI-20 generation has moved to a higher-capacity 18V 5Ah Lithium-Ion battery platform.

The updated version retains the proven 600–2200N tension range and 13/16mm PET and PP strap capability while providing a larger-capacity battery for a greater number of strapping cycles between charges.

When purchasing batteries or replacement components for an existing ITI-20, it is therefore important to identify which generation of the tool you have.

Battery Powered Convenience

Because the ITI-20 is completely cordless, the operator is not restricted by compressed-air lines or power leads.
