BLOWN FILM DEMO

In this video MPS show blown film wrapping a pallet of cartons, you can see how tight we get the film and the adhesive layer working. We use a stretchwrap dispenser that allows us to get the wrap extra tight easily.

What Is Blown Stretch Film?

Blown stretch film is a premium, high-strength pallet wrapping film manufactured using the blown extrusion process. In this process, molten LLDPE is blown upward into a large bubble, cooled slowly, and then collapsed into a film. This slower cooling creates a tougher stretch film, giving blown film its signature strength, puncture resistance, and ability to hold load stability even on sharp or irregular pallets.

For customers at MPS Packaging Australia, blown stretch film is the go-to option when pallets are difficult, heavy, or inconsistent. Because the film has excellent cling on the inside and a slightly tacky outside surface, it grips loads tightly without slipping. It also has a more rugged feel compared to cast film, making it ideal for industrial environments, timber yards, metal fabricators, brick manufacturers, recycled materials, and any application where sharp corners or unpredictable shapes put extra stress on the wrap.

What is blown stretchwrap advantages?

Blown stretch film also performs well in hot or dusty conditions because it resists pre-stretch loss and maintains tension over long transport distances. While cast film is smoother and quieter to apply, blown film is chosen for situations where durability and reliability matter most. At MPSPACK, our blown hand wrap range is engineered to give consistent hold, strong puncture resistance, and dependable performance for demanding Australian supply chains.

Adhesive layer:

Blown film without an adhesive layer doesn’t adhere well to itself. To address this, adhesive is applied to one side of the stretch wrap, which is then placed facing inward towards the goods. This leaves the outside of the wrapped product free of adhesive, making it ideal for pallets packed tightly in containers or on trucks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Blown Film?

Blown hand film is produced through a manufacturing process where the plastic is extruded and blown into a bubble that can extend to the ceiling of the facility. The bubble is then flattened, an adhesive layer is applied, and the film is slit and wound onto the rolls. This blowing process results in a film with excellent puncture and tear resistance.

Does this Blown hand film have an adhesive layer?

Yes, it does. Blown film without an adhesive layer doesn’t adhere well to itself. To address this, an adhesive is applied to one side of the stretch wrap, which is then placed facing inward toward the goods. This leaves the outer surface non-adhesive, making it ideal for tightly packed pallets in containers or trucks.
