FOAM TO PROTECT YOUR GOODS

Polyfoam rolls from MPS are a lightweight and versatile surface-protection foam made from soft, non-abrasive LDPE. Designed to prevent scratches, scuffs and minor impact damage, this closed-cell foam provides a clean and reliable cushioning layer around sensitive products during packing, storage or transport. The material is smooth, dust-free and won’t mark painted, coated or polished finishes, making it ideal for cabinetry, furniture, benchtops, kitchen components, aluminum frames and other delicate surfaces.

EPE FOAM

Supplied in continuous rolls, MPS EPE foam is easy to cut, wrap and apply around irregular shapes. You can use a single layer for basic protection or multiple layers for added cushioning. Because it is flexible and lightweight, it won’t add unnecessary bulk to your packaging or increase freight weight. The foam also offers good tear resistance, helping it stay intact while items are handled or moved through production lines.

What is EPE foam?

EPE is an expanded polyethylene foam made by heating and expanding LDPE resin with a blowing agent. During manufacturing, the polyethylene is compounded, heated and extruded, and as the blowing agent activates, it forms thousands of tiny closed air cells inside the material. These sealed bubbles give EPE its soft, flexible cushioning structure and its ability to absorb shock without collapsing. Because the cells remain closed, the foam is lightweight, water-resistant and non-abrasive, making it ideal for protecting furniture, cabinetry, appliances, aluminium frames and other sensitive surfaces. The continuous roll or sheet format comes directly from the extrusion process, where the expanding foam is cooled, stabilised and wound into usable lengths for packaging applications.

What is Polyfoam used for?

Polyfoam has a multipurpose design. It allows you to pack and store fragile items.
Polyfoam is also used to prevent damage and scratches in the transportation of products. It is most commonly used to protect larger items such as cupboards or bench tops in transport. Placed between the layers to avoid the two hard surfaces rubbing against each other.

Polyfoam (polyethylene) is a lightweight packaging material, it has a non-abrasive construction. It is also water-resistant and 100% recyclable.

Will my product be protected by just the Polyfoam during transport/shipping?

For example, if you are sending an item in a shipping box, then you should know that the Polyfoam will not provide sufficient protection. To make sure the items are secure inside the box, we advise filling the empty space in the box with our biofill or other void fill product to avoid movement of your goods inside the packaging while in transport.
