PET8MHD is designed for heavy-duty industrial use, especially in steel and metal processing applications. With a breaking strength of 830kg, it offers high tensile performance that rivals steel strap, while providing the flexibility and safety benefits of polyester. VIRGIN PET


Unlike standard PET straps made from mixed or recycled materials, PET8MHD is produced from 100% virgin PET resin. Using virgin material ensures greater consistency in the polymer structure, resulting in higher tensile strength, better elongation recovery, and improved weld reliability. This purity and consistency are key to the strap’s performance under tension, particularly in automated steel coil strapping systems where joint integrity is critical. Virgin PET also resists brittleness and edge cracking, maintaining strength even after long periods of storage or exposure to varying conditions.

MPS HEAVY DUTY PET IN USE


At a Melbourne coil slitting facility, 19mm PET8MHD strapping from MPS Packaging is used to secure heavy steel coils immediately after the slitting process. Each coil is strapped under high tension using automated battery tools, ensuring it remains tightly bound during handling, storage, and transport. The 19mm PET8MHD has proven ideal for this application thanks to its high 830kg breaking strength, consistent weld performance, and high antisplit. Operators have found it maintains tension even on freshly slit, sharp-edged coils where lower-grade PET straps would typically fail. The result is a reliable, safe, and efficient strapping solution that keeps production moving without interruptions.
