Ergostrap Delivery and Onsite Training for a Metal Parts Manufacturer

Ergostrap Delivery and Onsite Training for a Metal Parts Manufacturer

Recently, MPS Packaging Australia delivered and commissioned an Ergostrap automatic strapping system for a leading metal parts manufacturer. These photos were taken from our training video on delivery day—unfortunately, we can’t show the full video here, but it’s a great example of how the Ergostrap system can transform a manual, repetitive task into a faster, safer, and more ergonomic process.

The Challenge: Manual Strapping and Workplace Strain

Before contacting MPS, the customer was facing common but serious workplace issues. Their staff were manually lancing steel strapping under pallets—an awkward and time-consuming job that often meant bending down repeatedly or reaching too high when products were placed on pallet raisers. This not only slowed down production but also introduced manual handling and safety risks.

With a new production line being installed, the company wanted to take the opportunity to upgrade their process with a more ergonomic and efficient strapping solution.

The Solution: Ergostrap System

That’s where MPS introduced the Ergostrap – a mobile, battery-powered strapping assistant designed to make pallet strapping faster, safer, and more comfortable. The system automatically feeds the strap under the pallet using an extendable lance, completely eliminating the need to bend or reach.

The Ergostrap works with both PP strapping and PET plastic strapping, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and manufacturing environments. Its battery-powered operation, combined with lightweight construction and intuitive controls, allows operators to strap pallets ergonomically at ground level.

Onsite Training and Results

During our delivery and training session, our team demonstrated how the Ergostrap could handle different pallet sizes and stack heights with ease. Initially, there were some concerns about the stacks of metal components and whether the lance could navigate around them efficiently. However, the Ergostrap performed exceptionally well — easily guiding the strap around each load and securing it firmly without any manual bending or unsafe reaching.

Operators quickly adapted to the system, finding it faster than their previous manual method. By automating the lancing process and keeping the operator upright, the Ergostrap not only improved productivity but also reduced fatigue and the risk of workplace injuries.

Why Choose Ergostrap?

For manufacturers who regularly strap pallets at floor level, the Ergostrap system offers a number of key advantages:

  • Eliminates bending, reaching, and awkward body positions
  • Speeds up the strapping process significantly
  • Improves workplace safety and ergonomics
  • Easy to use with minimal training required
  • Works seamlessly with most battery strapping tools

Another Success for Safer, Smarter Strapping

This installation is another example of how MPS Packaging Australia helps customers across Australia modernise their packaging processes. By integrating the right tools and ergonomic systems like Ergostrap, businesses can achieve faster production, reduced strain on workers, and better overall safety.
