MPS Packaging is deeply committed to delivering top-notch quality pallet wrap and educating buyers. With over 45 years of industry experience, we could have simply taken the cash and ran by now. But our dedication lies in providing customers with superior products at excellent value.
Unfortunately, the packaging industry has seen a surge of questionable practices over the past two decades, There's a circus in town and there are clowns everywhere. While these clowns might charm you with their treats on each delivery, they often employ tricks to give the illusion of value when, in reality, it's lacking.
Gone are the days when comparing machine wrap was straightforward. Previously, you'd receive 500mm x 1600m x 25um Blown film, and comparing roll prices was a breeze. But today, it's a different story. Take a moment to examine what you're currently receiving. Does your supplier provide 1D descriptions for stretch film, such as "HAND PALLET WRAP" or "500MM PALLET WRAP" or "25UM PALLET WRAP"? Sure, you might have a good deal on roll price, but do you truly know what you're getting? It's akin to asking for the best-priced bottle of coke without specifying what size bottle. If suppliers were confident in their gauge or meters per roll, they'd display it, but they often leave it out.
Another common tactic is suppliers offering 2-dimensional stretch wrap descriptions like "500mm x 25um" or "500mm x 1400m." Yet, this leaves out crucial information about what you're actually receiving. Just the other day, we encountered a client paying $54 per roll for machine wrap, believing it unbeatable. Like Morpheus guiding Neo in the Matrix, I asked them to "Show me."
Upon examination, we found a "500mm x 25um" machine roll neatly packaged in a red and white carton. However, upon weighing it, the Gross roll weight was only 11.80kg, with a disproportionately large core, seemingly inflated to make the roll appear bigger. They're literally paying more for the large core to shortchange customers on the film.
Assuming a maximum of 10.8kg of stretch wrap on the roll, the client is effectively paying $54.00 for 10.8kg of machine wrap.
Just like water or petrol, the volume per weight of stretch wrap remains consistent. LDPE has a density of 0.92 per cubic CM, making it a science. Using the known dimensions of the roll, we calculated it to contain only 939.1 meters.
Thus, while this client pays $54 per machine roll, they're essentially shelling out the equivalent of $68.87 per roll if it were a standard 1215m roll. When it comes to conventional cast pallet pricing, we can beat this pricing effortlessly. Not only can we provide a comparison for value and real savings, but we're also confident that our film outperforms, sourced only from the most reputable manufacturers in Australia and Malaysia. See the comparison report below for more details.
